Century Direct Group received reports that India is planning to increase safety features for its nuclear plants to avoid crisis similar to Japan’s Fukushima plant. On Thursday government official stated that assessments were made on 20 nuclear power plants that they are capable to withstand natural disasters such as earthquakes or tsunamis. But inspectors did recommend to implement additional technology to enable automatic shutdown if any natural crisis like earthquake would occur.
The Indian government is planning to spend around $175 billion over the coming years on nuclear power generators. India is in dire need of nuclear energy supply for the fast growing economy of the country. And despite of what happened in Japan, India is going ahead to build more nuclear plants to supply such demand.
